HVAC Tax Credit

If you installed a new furnace, heat pump, air conditioner, or HVAC system in the last year, you may qualify for a tax credit in 2013. The previously-expired energy efficiency tax credit was re-established as of January 2, 2013 as a part of the legislation that helped us avoid the fiscal cliff. The tax credit, known as the 25C tax credit, provides up to $500 in federal tax credits for energy efficient HVAC systems.

This tax credit is retroactive, meaning you can qualify for the tax credit even if you had your system installed in 2012 when the energy efficient tax credit was expired.
